Hello and welcome to the Kartel blog! Our first entry is a short introduction for those who don't know who we are.

Kartel is a London based international artist management company. It was established in April 2003 by Charles Kirby-Welch with the assistance of a Princes Trust loan.

Reacting to the rapidly changing music industry Kartel has embraced the DIY approach and adopted management, record label and publisher roles. The company works with carefully chosen strategic partners around the world including; Vital/PIAS and Elastic Artists in the UK, Discograph and Ping Pong in France, Sonar Kollektiv in Germany, Quango Music Group and Zync in the USA.

The companies musical direction is definable only as being wholly heterogeneous. We don't like to pigeon hole our artists as most of them fall into 3 or 4 genres at anyone time. The underlying quality we look for is an inspiring ability to perform original music live and show people a good time.

The current roster, in order of appearance, is: Fat Freddy's Drop, Son Of Dave, Tom Mansi, Border Crossing, The Mules and Fireworks Night.
